We elected again this year to move the Father's Day weekend to the weekend after father's day for many reasons, so the weekend began on Wednesday June 23rd with the Prior's being the first ones at Button Bay State Park. They enjoyed a nice quiet evening by themselves and awaited with anticipation the arrival of the other families.

On Thursday June 24th, Joe Ketcham and family, Carol, Matt, and his friend Chris, were the next to arrive with the McAuslan's not too far behind. The afternoon was spent setting up camp, playing wiffle-ball, swimming, campfire building and fishing. The evening communal meal  included a large Salmon from Davids fishing adventures on his new Boston Whaler, Montauk 17. Tim O'Rourke and son Isaac showed up about 10:00pm. in Tim's newly painted 1996 Accord.

Friday morning dawned overcast and cool. Kristin, Beth, Lynden and Ally took off to the horse barn and spent a couple hours with Molly the horse, riding in a cart all over the farm. While the girls were horsing around, the men/boys stayed at camp and had a jam session which included Dylan on Bass, Bob on rhythm guitar, Roy on harp, Casey on rhythm guitar, Joe on lead guitar, Jon on guitar, and Tim leading the way with guitar/vocals. Upon returning to camp the girls found that the Giffords and Nealy's had arrived. By this time the Prior campsite was command central with all the cooking, eating and Pegs tournaments happening there. We had three picnic tables, three cook stoves, a dish washing center and the whole set up highly organized. Bishops showed up and set up camp that night as well. Roy took charge, and showed Bob how to setup camp. That evening brought thunder, lightening and rain on and off. We had a camp fire and Stan graced us all with a song!

Saturday was a beautiful day with lots of sun and fun. Kathy O'Rourke and her daughter Adrian arrived and we also had visitors: Bill, Shelly, Wendy, Greg, Julie and Andrew, Robin, Mitch and Kathy. The kids fished, swam, rode bikes, tried to capture seagulls, swung in the hammock and lit sparklers. The adults played pegs, guitars, fished, rode bikes, kayaked, hiked and enjoyed the fellowship of each others company that we love about this annual camping event. Late afternoon brought a large wind/thunderstorm that luckily was fast moving and blew over pretty quickly. Then we had a wonderfully cool breezy evening that was perfect for smores, campfire songs and sleeping.

Sunday was another brilliant morning. With such a perfect day, everyone found something to do, including a bike ride to Basin Harbor, fishing (that's all David did), playing catch, and of course, eating. Many packed up early afternoon, and left to return to work on Monday, but Father Prior, Father McAuslan, Mother Nealy, Father Gifford and the Bishops stayed! The kids actually caught a seagull in a cardboard box and David has the pictures to prove it!.
